The Osu Street Town Festival in Nagoya, Japan, was a huge success, attracting 280,000 people this October. The festival featured over 60 street performers from across the country, showcasing life-risking acts such as juggling with a 4kg chainsaw and performing on a 5m pole. A young performer attending Japan’s only circus training school was also highlighted, working hard to obtain a street performance license. The festival also saw the appearance of Gilyak Amagasaki, Japan’s oldest legendary street performer, who moved the audience to tears with his soulful dance.
