The story is set in Nekogaya, a town in Saitama Prefecture northwest of Tokyo. Nekogaya is Japan’s hottest town with a record high temperature of 48.4°C (119°F). As a result, the town passed laws mandating citizens to wear swimsuits everyday "for ecological reasons." Katsu serialized the manga in Kodansha’s Young Magazine from 2009 to April of this year, and the seventh and final compiled book volume shipped in July.
